😠 Tried their service. Immediately found it unsuitable. Attempted to cancel the account, but received error "Unbalanced Account" in their admin area. Eventually found their support contact details. Asked for cancellation and refund. Received response that the 2months charged cannot be refunded because "request not received in first 14 days". Well, if the admin area worked it would have been received 2hrs after initial sign up. Worst service experience in a long time

😠 Their site has an english option but only a small fraction of words are actually in english. I used google translate, but that took so long to have to translate every option, every word, etc. I had used around 10 hosting companies previously and all of them had c-panel and where very easy to use. Host Europe does not! This made things a lot more difficult to set up. I was in contact with support back and forward for a couple of weeks without much luck. I spent at least a few hours trying to get my site going and in the end I asked for my money back because it was all too hard. They said no. And it was only about 2-3 weeks after I signed up and now apparently I am stuck in their 1 year "contract". Good deal!

🔃 Host Europe is part of Godaddy(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain Registration Own datacenter
⇔ Redirected domains: hosteurope.ch loomes.de internet24.de hosteurope.com hosteurope.es
⇔ Redirected from dynamic-net.ch internet24.ch
HostEurope (founded by entrepreneur Uwe Braun) is a long-standing, Cologne-rooted hosting brand (active since 1997) with a mainstream, professional focus rather than bargain-basement positioning. They manage 1,000,000+ domains for 250,000+ customers and frame their offer around reliability, SLA-backed availability, and continuous improvement.
The catalogue is broad. Under Webhosting, there are cPanel-based shared WebHosting plans, WordPress Hosting, and the cPanel WebServer tier (a managed virtual server with dedicated resources and full cPanel, while they handle server admin). For larger or more complex projects, the Server track offers Virtual Servers (VPS) on 100% NVMe SSD and Fully Managed Virtual Servers, with optional Advanced Services for performance, security hardening, migrations, and admin tasks. Beyond hosting, they act as a domain registrar with transparent pricing, provide SSL & Security (including Sucuri malware protection and guaranteed cleanup), sell standalone email hosting, and bundle Microsoft 365. A shop builder and WordPress E-Commerce packages round out the small-merchant angle.
They offer German and English support along their website fully localized in English.
Overall the platform is a well-organized generalist: domains → shared/WordPress/cPanel WebServer → unmanaged or fully managed VPS, plus security, email/Office, and e-commerce—tied together with SLAs and 24/7 support.
💰 Price & Cost
Pricing is in EUR and online tables are shown including 19% VAT for German customers. Terms are typically 1, 12, or 24 months; longer terms reduce the effective monthly fee and often waive setup.
- cPanel WebHosting: "Standard" through Deluxe, Ultimate, Maximum. On a 1-month term, Standard is ~6.99 €/mo plus a setup fee and includes 25 GB SSD, 1 website, a Professional E-Mail mailbox, a .de domain for the first year, SSL, daily backups, and one-month cancellation. Higher tiers raise sites, SSD (up to ~100 GB), databases, and mailboxes; longer terms bring Standard down to ~5–5.99 €/mo and waive setup.
- Virtual Servers (VPS): granular tiers by vCPU and term. A 1-vCPU VPS starts around 5.39 €/mo on 24-month terms; higher specs (8/16/32 vCPU) run ~30–130 €/mo depending on specs and term. Prices include VAT and are billed monthly in advance with clear minimum durations.
- Domains & Email: typical promotional first-year rates (e.g., email from 1.99 €/mo first year then 4.99 €/mo).
Host Europe does not market a blanket "30-day money-back" across all products (in Europe is 14-days by default). Instead, guarantees are baked into SLAs (e.g., 99.9% availability with credits/discounts if targets aren’t met). Payment via the customer portal supports SEPA direct debit, credit cards, and PayPal.
🏢 Data Center
Hosting runs in modern European facilities centered on Cologne (CGN1, Germany) and Strasbourg (SXB, France) with strong physical security (access control, video surveillance, fire detection and Argon gas suppression), redundant power (UPS), and environmental monitoring. Documentation emphasizes high availability and extensive internal monitoring.
Certain products can also be deployed in data centers in Europe, the USA, or Asia for proximity to end users, though shared-hosting migrations default to Europe (Strasbourg). The SLA commits to at least 99.9% availability monthly, with measurement at the power/network layers and product-specific terms—Virtual Server materials explicitly cite 99.9% uptime with 24/7 network monitoring.
Note: Microsoft 365 data resides in Microsoft’s global data centers, not Host Europe’s, which matters for customers requiring strict German/EU data residency for email/Office workloads.
✍️ Customer Support
Support is a core pillar: 24/7/365 via phone and email, plus live chat and ticketing in the KIS portal.
- Phone: central Serviceline (+49 221 99999 301 for mobile/international, plus a German 0800 freephone), 24/7.
- Emailsupport at hosteurope.de, 24/7 coverage.
- Chat: live chat widget on the site.
- KIS portal: open "Support-Auftrag" tickets for server and other services.
- Self-service: extensive FAQs, downloadable guides, blog tutorials, newsletters.
They highlight "excellent service" with recurring industry recognition in DACH, and free landline calls for DE/CH/AT underline their regional focus.
🔨 Control Panel
Administration is split across three layers:
- KIS (Kunden-Informations-System): account, contracts, invoices, payments, support tickets, and SSO links into product panels.
- cPanel: primary interface for WebHosting and cPanel WebServer plans (domains, mail, databases, files, backups, CMS installs). HostEurope provides a cPanel quick-start guide and documents plan-level limits (e.g., inodes/db sizes) for stability.
- Plesk / server tools: available on dedicated/older tariffs and as an add-on for VPS where customers manage OS via SSH/RDP and can license Plesk as needed.
This gives non-technical users a clean cPanel experience while advanced users can step up to VPS/root control with KIS as the account hub.
🎯 Conclusion
Host Europe is a mature, Germany-based provider with nearly three decades of continuity, strong EU data-center roots (Cologne/Strasbourg), and a carefully tiered product set from cPanel shared to managed/unmanaged NVMe VPS. Strengths include SLA-backed 99.9% availability, 24/7/365 multi-channel support, transparent EUR pricing with VAT shown, and a modern control-panel stack.Trade-offs: 1-month pricing sits above ultra-budget rivals; control panel is extra price on some products, the guarantee framework is SLA-credit rather than a universal free-trial refund; and Microsoft 365 data is hosted by Microsoft, not in Host Europe’s DCs. For businesses that value European hosting, contractual clarity, and round-the-clock phone support in German/English, Host Europe is a solid, mainstream choice—provided the pricing model and SLA-credit approach align with expectations.

😞 Great price, great availability, support has generally been friendly, overall really satisfied.
However, there's one stone in the shoe, and unfortunately, it's so big that I can't recommend HostEurope at all. The kernel version in their virtual servers is fixed to a really old version. This means that if you are running Debian and need to upgrade, you're completely stuck because newer Debian packages require newer libc releases which require a kernel version > 2.6.26.
I have contacted support about this issue, which they were completely uncooperative about. They don't offer any sort of migration part. If you buy a virtual server, you won't be able to upgrade it at any point in the future - you have to migrate yourself. It appears they don't give a damn at all about this. They don't advertise this fact before you buy.
So if you never need to run new software, go for HostEurope, they're cheap and solid, if you do need to upgrade, stay away.

😃 I have a virtual server there. Service and performance is great so far. Support is nice so far.
My questions got answered quickly and usually within 24-36 hours. Haven't used the paid services yet, as I manage it all myself and just ask for hints which were always useful so far.
Only thing I'm not fully satisfied with is the fact, that I can't upgrade the OS of the Guest OS manually and it's running the (at the time i ordered) latest LTS version of ubuntu (8.04) which is bit outdated for my taste and the its repository has some old packages which aren't updated anymore, beyond the typical service updates (security and critical bugfixes).
But as far as I understand, that's a technical limitation, as the kernel/OS of the guest OS must match with the one of the host for best performance. So i have to wait a few months until there is a ubuntu/kernel update which is supported by virtuozzo and Plesk to switch on ubuntu 10.4 lts.
Until then I have/can live with the older [read more...]

😁 Don't let the three reviews from June 2009 fool you - I'm quite sure, this is always the same reviewer, since (s)he always writes "replay", where it should be "reply".
IMHO HostEurope is one of the best hosting companies - at least in Germany, perhaps in the EU.
To be honest, "we" are a Company and therefore cannot be compared to typical "I want to my personal blog"-Customers.
We're hosting each and every project at HostEurope for 7 Years now, currently using 8 individual (Debian Linux x86 and x64) servers and a Hardware Firewall.
We never had any issues with HostEurope, neither regarding pricing/invoicing, nor Hardware, Connectivity, Support or Services like Backup, etc.
Of course, there's another major difference: We are root on all our servers and manage them using SSH. Therefore, we don't care about any (Pseudo-)Admin-Interfaces like Plesk or whatever.
Everything just works at HostEurope.

😉 Since 02.06.2009 Host Europe GmbH ignore customer and is responsible for data loose because there was no replay and any reaction from their side.
In past posts we inform public opinion and Host Europe about their behavior that sounds in shortcut “we piss off customers – get lost”
Till today, after 22 days there is no replay from Host Europe and finally from 17.06.2009 we decide to fight with Host Europe GmbH. For now we starting our lawyers and soon case in court.
Host Europe will not start use their brains? – seem so, cause they use only MB or TB but that what they have done is not human behavior.
Anyway, sooner or later we will proof that we have right for our goods stored at Host Europe GmbH server.
To remind you – nobody informed us about shot down server, nobody from Host Europe did not send us any file or notice that we finish cooperation, more over, they charged us money, and shot down server…
Can anybody understand it?

😠 Host Europe support sleep well. Customers don’t
Next days are passing, and still Host Europe do not replay, besides, they still have our data, and they paid, but server is off.
How it’s possible that you pay fee, you write 10 e-mails per day, and nobody react?
Host Europe no reaction – Customer loosing money and time.
Besides, they are not cheap hosting company, comparing to quality and offer of competitors, but we was think, that if price is higher, than:
- support will be better
- quality will be better
What we got in fact is:
- no replay for our e-mails
- no server
- lost data
- lost money
- lost time
If you are non German customer do not count for full help in English – they just advertise in English as “World Class Hosting Company” – but in fact they are not.
All panels and help + alerts are in German, only information that you have to pay is in English…
So once again we ask owners of Host Europe – are you really want to make from people [read more...]
