Lightup Network Solutions entered the market in 1998 as an Internet Service Provider and has since been serving business customers from a number of different industries and countries. When the two managing directors Daniel Rieger and Markus Stalder founded lightupNET as a sole proprietorship in February of 1998, the business focused on providing professional webhosting and the development of business websites. Over the years, the demand for more individual services grew. Lightup Network Solutions utilizes the data center "WHP 26" in Frankfurt am Main as primary DC location. For failsafe, load balancing and backup solutions that span over several data centers we also use additional data center locations in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich. The DC "WHP 26" is one of the few data centers that has a proven track record of zero downtimes caused by power outages since 1997.
Between 2005 and 2008 we used to operate our own data center in the "Atricom" building. The data center is since operated by Cogent Communications.
