😠 Doubtful business practice at METANET
After several years of membership we gave notice by e-mail on November 6, 2012 not to renew our contract expiring on December 3, 2012. Received email containing a certain link to download a from which needed to be filled in and faxed back. Unfortunately, we missed to do so. On December 6 we were sent another email containing the bill for 2013. We reacted immediately by return email pointing out our mail dated November 6. NO ANSWER AT ALL! On week later we received a first reminder by mail. Tried to phone and explain. NOTHING DOING, we have to pay. Therefore, BE AWARE OF METANET!

😠 Like Goldzwerg already mentioned: Very bureaucratic (altough it's a very small team), and extremly unfriendly.
They are very chaotic. Some Software is not up to date. They severe have problems with communication: they barely speak/write german, even tough that's the language here.
Sadly, they're still the cheapest to my knowledge if you're looking for webspace, at least in switzerland.

😠 Cannot recommend METANET. Very bureaucratic and not very customer oriented. Pay attention when engaging with Metanet: read their terms and conditions carefully. To resign from their contract (which renews automatically sometimes before the actual end of the contract period) is not that easy...

😠 Be very careful when using metanet.ch. We had a dedicated server with them for more than 5 years. Here are a few problems we had.
- Make sure there is a backup in place as that is not automatic. We lost several customers during a HDD failure.
- They charge extra(hourly) to replace old hardware that is broken during non-office hours.
- They don't upgrade their servers as needed and old customers get stuck with old systems that more often fail.
- According to their contract you have to pay for 6 months extra(unless you tell them 30 days before next period begins) when you no longer need the server. So instead of getting money back for time you already paid for you get charged 6 months extra. This happened even after using their services for more than 5 years. Plan your move very well.
My advice is to stay away from Metanet hosting service.
