😠 Beware of Rebel.com – unethical billing and unprofessional conduct
After more than 20 years of loyalty (since their old DomainsAtCost days), I left Rebel.com for good a couple of years ago — and I’m glad I did. I cancelled all my domains with them, yet they charged me again for a cancelled domain. No authorization, no notice, just an unexpected withdrawal from my account.
The reason why I cancelled, the owner once contacted one of my clients directly and spoke negatively about me — completely inappropriate and unprofessional. That was the final straw.
Rebel.com has gone from being a trusted registrar to using underhanded tactics to squeeze a few dollars out of long-time customers. If you value transparency and respect, stay far away. There are plenty of honest alternatives that don’t resort to this kind of behavior.

😠 I agree with the first review on Jan 16th 2018. Rebel is still doing the same old thing. As long as you watch over domain transfer and contact them, it usually runs smooth, but don't count on them to automatically transfer domains out if you are close to expiration. Apparently they have an automatic and manual system and if it fails, they will not tell you and then try to charge you all sorts of extra fees. I lost a domain because of their bad programming or their manual domain transfers.
I would avoid this company and just choose something that is reliable.

😠 Buying a domain isn't bad, and their DNS isn't bad (although neither is great). But their payment system is so crap that I have almost lost domains because they can't bill properly. And their notifications that domains are going to expire is so crap that they don't tell you if there is any problems. If you hate your life and your time is worthless, then I'd consider these people. and even then it is questionable.

😠 We have hosted our domains with them for over 10 years, but in the past year moved our email hosting there to use their PLESK system (as opposed to Cpanel). What a horrible experience. We have had two 2+ hour down days in less than a week and they lied to us via email that it was "maintenance". We will pull our domains and leave them. service is ok, but for whatever reason, they are a gong show.

I registered a (.am) domain with who-is privacy with these guys on February 22.
God! A domain registration?! ??
Is it possible in 2019?
Yes, rebel can do that...
After 4 days that nothing happened I sent an email to their support and ask about the miracle, I wanted to know when this huge thing will happen!
Also, my email that was verified on February 22 on my profile went to unverified status (another miracle!)
They answered me and told me that they are going to solve the email problem and forward my domain registration request to their support team!!!
Holy God....
Am I not talking to the support?
If you are the support, who is the other support?
And what if I didn't send you an email?
How many days would it take to find out someone registered a domain on your useless platform?!
Anyway, that support forwarded my request to another support and after 3 days finally the domain registered and became available on my profile.
But, guess what?

😠 I switched from my old hosting account because the features at rebel.com looked more appealing. This was a huge mistake. I asked them to transfer all my data about 3 weeks before my old hosting service expired and they said it would be no problem. They literally promised they would have everything switched over. A couple days before the expiry I emailed them because i was concerned that our emails were not swtiched operational yet and the website had been down for about a week. They told me they would be able to get the emails switched over in that time. A week later the website was up and email finally started to work, and thankfully I had local backups of all our old emails. However the emails kept timing out and I constantly emailed support with my issues and they at first would respond once a day, and then just stopped all together. I could check my emails on my phone, and at home flawlessly. But at work(where i need it the most) it would occasionally time and and stop [read more...]

😃 The web hosting features are good but the email is not good at at. Even though their email server Horde supports AvticeSync and CalDav and CardDAV they have not implemented these features. Without either of these services the email is useless for business since there is no calendar or contact syncing across devices.
They also don't support Let's Encrypt so be prepared to pay for SSL certificates.
I would say that if they enabled calendar and contact services and supported Let's Encrypt they would be an excellent hosting service. You need to decide if these thigns are important to you before you sign up.
Support is pretty good though.
