😠 .click scam stores and Sav.com

Sav.com is registering domains for a repeating network of fake “.click” storefronts. These sites are part of an organised international scam that impersonates real businesses, steals copyrighted images and branding, and tricks people into entering payment details.

New domains keep appearing as soon as others are reported or removed. Despite multiple DMCA and abuse reports, Sav.com has not taken meaningful action to stop this activity.

(3*) 🔧 Services: Domain Registration ICANN registrar
Sav.com is a relatively young but now very visible player in the domain and website space. Based in Chicago and active since 2019, they operate as an ICANN-accredited registrar with a strong focus on low-cost domains, simple tools for small sites and a surprisingly capable e-commerce website builder. Everything is tied together into one account, so domains, DNS, websites and the aftermarket all sit in a single dashboard rather than being spread across multiple providers.

The heart of the platform is domain registration and management. Sav supports hundreds of TLDs (well over 300 extensions), from the usual .com/.net/.org to newer and niche endings. Pricing is aggressive, and one of the main selling points is that essentials like WHOIS privacy, DNS hosting and SSL are bundled for free with every eligible domain. There is no separate upsell just to keep personal details off public WHOIS or to get basic DNS and HTTPS in place, which is still common at many large registrars.

For anyone managing more than a handful of names, the domain portfolio tools are a big part of the appeal. Bulk transfer and bulk update options are built into the panel, domains can be consolidated into one account from other registrars with "zero website downtime", and there is an integrated aftermarket: domain auctions, fixed-price marketplace listings with low commissions, free "for sale" landers, instant payouts on successful sales, and no-fee backordering where the charge only applies if Sav actually catches the domain. An API is available for developers who want to plug Sav into their own tools or third-party platforms.

On the hosting side, Sav takes a different path from classic hosts. There is no cPanel shared hosting, no VPS list and no dedicated server catalog. Instead, hosting is bundled with a proprietary website builder and with the DNS/redirect layer attached to domains. The website builder uses drag-and-drop templates that are mobile-friendly out of the box, with hundreds of designs tailored to industries like restaurants, fitness, professional services and retail. Users can embed custom HTML and CSS, connect services such as Google Calendar, OpenTable or Zoom, run a blog and tweak SEO-relevant details like URLs, meta tags and alt text, all from the same interface.

The e-commerce stack is more complete than one might expect from a registrar-centric brand. The builder supports product catalogs, digital goods, subscriptions, coupons and promotions, inventory tracking, automated tax calculation, multi-currency storefronts and over 40 payment methods for a merchant’s customers. Store owners can sell via their own site, integrate with channels like Facebook, Instagram and Amazon, use abandoned-cart recovery, push products to Google Shopping, and manage orders from mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Underneath, website hosting runs on a cloud platform with 99.9% uptime, fast page-load performance, automatic backups, SSL and built-in DDoS protection. DNS and the optional "free DNS" mode for transferred domains ride on Cloudflare’s infrastructure, which gives domains a global anycast DNS footprint and extra resilience against common network attacks. Sav keeps the domain, billing and control-panel layer, while Cloudflare handles the heavy lifting for DNS and web delivery.

Email is available as a separate service, but Sav mainly functions as a front-end for specialist partners here. The email hosting itself is supplied by OpenExchange and the forwarding layer by improvmx, with Sav’s own terms making it clear that service continuity and technical issues for those components ultimately sit with the email partners. For most users this simply means they order and manage mailboxes through Sav, but the underlying mail platform is external.

Overall, the platform is a domain investor–friendly registrar that has grown a reasonably serious site-building and commerce platform around its core, rather than a traditional host that added domains as an afterthought.

💰 Price & Cost

Domain pricing is one of Sav’s strongest selling points. Registration and renewal fees for mainstream TLDs are usually at the cheaper end of the market, and unlike many large registrars, Sav does not bolt on extra charges for WHOIS privacy, DNS hosting or basic SSL. Those pieces are included with eligible domains, so the price shown for a domain is much closer to the true cost of running it.

For domain investors and bulk owners, the economics are also favorable. Commission on aftermarket sales is low compared with most competing platforms, and landers are included rather than billed separately. Domain backorders are free to place and only billed when Sav actually secures the name, so there is no recurring backorder fee that can be lost if a domain never drops or is caught by someone else.

The website builder is offered on a freemium model. Anyone can create and publish a basic site on a free plan, which is useful for small projects or testing ideas. Paid plans are structured in tiers and billed annually:
  • Basic at around $2.49/month (paid yearly) for simple sites.
  • Standard at about $9.95/month (yearly) with more features and capacity.
  • Advanced at about $17.95/month for growing businesses and more serious e-commerce.
  • Unlimited at about $39.95/month for larger catalogs and higher traffic.

All paid tiers include SSL, SEO features, unlimited storage and access to the full template library. As you go up the ladder, the plans unlock higher product limits, more advanced marketing tools, richer analytics and broader e-commerce capabilities such as multi-currency, extended integrations and automation.

Billing is in US dollars by default. Sav accepts standard online payment methods such as major credit cards; PayPal support is also available. On the commerce side, storefronts built with Sav can offer more than 40 payment methods to their own customers and can run in multiple currencies, but that concerns how a merchant charges buyers rather than how Sav bills its own clients.

In terms of guarantees, Sav leans on a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and Purchase Protection promise. Orders are covered by a pledge that if there is a discrepancy between what a customer paid for and what is delivered, Sav will issue a full refund, subject to some restrictions and exclusions. There is no classic, blanket "30-day money-back guarantee" on hosting in the legal terms. Domain registrations remain largely non-refundable once submitted to registries, and hosting refunds in the agreements are tied mainly to situations where Sav discontinues a service without cause. Anyone looking for a very generous no-questions-asked refund window should read the terms closely before committing.

🏢 Data Center

Sav is quite transparent about the fact that it does not run its own standalone data centers for web hosting. The Website Hosting Agreement states that hosting services are exclusively powered by Cloudflare, and that operational issues with the hosting layer are ultimately tied to Cloudflare’s platform rather than Sav’s own hardware.

In day-to-day use, this setup has clear advantages. Websites and DNS benefit from Cloudflare’s globally distributed edge network, anycast routing, caching and DDoS filtering. Domain transfer and DNS pages emphasize "zero website downtime" when moving domains in or switching to Sav’s free DNS, because the system can copy existing DNS records and update nameservers with minimal interruption. For a typical small site or online shop, this means a combination of low cost and a high-quality delivery network without the complexity of managing servers.

The trade-off is that detailed infrastructure information is limited. Sav does not publish a list of specific data center locations, hardware specifications or network carriers, and there is no detailed public SLA with credit tables. The website builder and hosting descriptions talk about 99.9% uptime, data backups and secure hosting environments, but the formal hosting terms focus more on limitations of liability than on hard, compensated uptime guarantees.

For most small businesses, freelancers and domain investors, this level of abstraction is perfectly acceptable. For compliance-driven customers who need to know exactly which city or facility holds their workloads, or who need a signed SLA with explicit credits for downtime, the lack of granular infrastructure detail is an important consideration. In those cases Sav is often best used purely as a registrar and DNS provider, while production workloads run on a separate specialist host.

✍️ Customer Support

Sav’s support model is primarily online and self-service. There is a dedicated help center at help.sav.com with articles covering domains, transfers, DNS, the website builder, billing and other topics. From there and from within the account area, customers can open tickets or request assistance. The various service agreements repeatedly point to email and online tools (chat, account notices, etc.) as the main channels for communication.

There is a general support address support at sav.com and a toll-free US phone number, but the structure of the site and terms makes it clear that routine support is expected to go through tickets and the help center rather than a classic 24/7 phone desk. For straightforward domain operations and website-builder questions, this works reasonably well, especially given how much can be done directly in the control panel without needing human intervention.

The flip side is that Sav feels more like a lean registrar than a white-glove managed hosting company. There is no publicly promoted guaranteed response time, no published 24/7 NOC contact for regular customers and no obvious enterprise support tier described in the main product pages. Users who want highly responsive telephone support for every problem – especially for complex DNS or hosting issues – may find the experience less reassuring than with traditional enterprise-oriented hosts.

🔨 Control Panel

Sav offers its own unified account dashboard for everything: domains, DNS, websites, marketplace listings and billing.
On the domain side, the panel allows bulk registration, centralized renewal management, portfolio-wide DNS updates, WHOIS privacy toggles, backorder setup and auction or marketplace listings from one place. For larger portfolios, the ability to filter, search and bulk-edit records is crucial, and Sav’s interface is clearly built with domain investors in mind. For technical users, the domain API exposes registration, transfer and management actions so the registrar can be plugged into scripts, custom control panels or third-party applications.

On the website side, the control panel is effectively the website builder itself. Users pick a template, adjust sections with drag-and-drop tools, edit content, connect apps and publish. The same back office handles e-commerce configuration (products, categories, subscriptions, coupons, shipping), tax rules, multi-currency and multi-language settings, marketing campaigns, analytics and order management. A merchant running a small online store can realistically manage their entire online presence – domain, storefront, blog and marketing – from this single interface.

Account security is reinforced by two-factor authentication, which is required for key actions and for account sign-in. Given the risk of domain theft at any registrar, this is an important detail. The overall feel of the control panel is modern and focused, but also opinionated: it gives a lot of power for domains and template-based sites, yet offers no shell access, database admin panels or low-level tuning for servers. Users who require that level of control will need to pair Sav with another host.

🎯 Conclusion

Sav sits at the intersection of a budget-friendly domain registrar and a hosted website-builder platform. Its biggest strengths are clear: very competitive domain registration and renewal prices, genuinely useful free extras (WHOIS privacy, DNS, SSL), and a domain-investor-oriented toolkit with auctions, marketplace listings, landers, backorders and an API. For many people who live in the domain world, that alone makes Sav worth a serious look.

The website builder adds another layer on top: 99.9% cloud hosting, integrated e-commerce with multi-currency and multi-channel sales, a deep feature set for online stores and a smooth, template-driven editor. For an individual, freelancer or small business that wants to register domains, point some at "for sale" pages and run one or two sites without thinking about servers, Sav offers a neat, low-cost bundle.

The limitations are equally important. Sav does not offer traditional shared hosting, VPS or dedicated servers, does not publish detailed information about physical infrastructure and relies heavily on Cloudflare for hosting and DNS. Support is largely ticket-based with no strong public commitments on response times. Anyone who needs fine-grained control over their hosting environment, detailed SLAs or hand-holding support is likely to feel more comfortable combining Sav’s domain tools with a separate, more infrastructure-focused provider or choosing a different vendor entirely.

In practice, Sav makes the most sense for domain investors, technically comfortable users and small online shops that value low domain costs, a capable website builder and are happy to operate mainly through a web dashboard. For heavier workloads, compliance-sensitive projects or teams that demand very responsive human support, Sav is best treated as a registrar and DNS provider rather than as the sole hosting backbone.

😠 I transferred my domain 13 year old vivahmantra.com to them and is missing, when contacted saying that I listed in marketplace for 1 dollar after renewing it for 8.99 dollars, its a premium domain which was listed for 1000 dollars on sedo, like this he is taking control of. Beware of domain registrar, do not register or transfer the domains to them, if you already have domains there immediately transfer out the domains

😠 Disaster in Every Respect
These guys are a disaster in every respect; support is a joke, it takes days to respond and then it is with a canned answer that doesn't address your problem; their software is buggy and there are regularly issues that come up; TODAY I did a search on two dot coms that I knew were available from a whois search and they both cam back as not available; I registered them at Dynadot. They offer the lowest regularly priced coms, but you are much better off spending the extra and getting a service that you can rely on. Be wary of all of the positive reviews on some sites; they have got to be paid reviews. Do your own due diligence or be prepared for failure.
